"The Oscars Showed Us Why Typography Matters" Reflection

This article shows a great example of the importance of typographic hierarchy, and the importance of text variation such as size, weight, and placement. Like the author of this article, I was very surprised by the design of such an important piece of information. I too found it kind of silly that they felt the need to display the Oscars logo at the top of the card at all, let alone that large and at the top. I liked the modified card that the author of this article created, but I think even just changing the weight and/or size of the text (like the award name and the recipient’s name(s)) would work, you don’t necessarily have to remove or rearrange the information, however, I do agree that moving the name of the award to the top of the card would make more sense. Removing the line above the award name and maybe adding some color on the original card would make it more visually appealing and readable. I enjoyed reading this article, because it shines light on the importance of typographic and design choices, even on small things that seem unimportant.
